Biographical Information

I was born in Portsmouth, Virginia. I am the oldest of four children. There are three boys and one girl in our family. My Father was in the Navy when I was born and got out around the time I was six years old. He then worked in civil service until 1982. My father got a job with Lockheed Missiles and Space in Austin, TX. Our family moved to Texas and has been there ever since.

I had a rough time adapting to life in Texas but would grow to love it immensely. I went to school at Texas A&M University. I love being an Aggie and highly recommend it to anyone who would like a great school to go to for a small price.

Upon graduation from Texas A&M I went to graduate school at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. I studied Counseling there and graduated with a Master's Degree in 1995. I then returned home to Texas and started my work as a youth minister at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the Diocese of Austin, TX.

Youth Ministry was great and led me to discern that God might be calling me to the priesthood. I didn't think that I would fit in well with the Diocese of Austin so I began to search for a Diocese. With the great benefit of God's grace I found the Diocese of Sioux Falls, SD. I contacted Bishop Carlson and asked if he would consider me as a seminarian. He graciously consented and I moved to South Dakota.

I have been studying for Sioux Falls since September of 1997. I spent my first 1 1/2 years at St. John Vianney minor seminary on the campus of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. I will finish there in 1999 and then move on to the North American College in Rome, Italy.

Personal Interests

Catholic Faith
Founded by Jesus Christ over two thousand years ago, the one true Church continues today.  The gates of hell have not prevailed against the Church founded upon Peter; just as Christ promised they would not.
Early Church Fathers
To read the Fathers of the Church is to cease being Protestant.
Sleight of Hand
A great hobby to develop timing, coordination, and theatrical skill.  It also is great to impress your Godson with.
Computers
If I wasn't interested then you wouldn't be reading this great web page!
Vocations
The harvest is plenty but laborers are few.  The greatest life and a soul changing experience.
